Along with our guests we celebrated 12 months of impacting lives in our community through the hand up philosophy of our service. CEO Josie Parata topped off the night by sharing an exciting and ambitious vision for the next 12-18 months.
CEO Josie Parata announced that tonight's dinner marked the re-branding and re-launch of the service under the name Lighthouse for the community. Representing the extension of the service to single dads, grandparents and the whole family unit impacted by domestic violence.
In addition the launch of Lighthouse for the community also includes extending the reach of the service into Mosman and Neutral Bay - a Lighthouse Case Manager will meet with clients in Mosman and the Dee Why Head Office will provide administrative and supervision support. A catalyst for this decision was conversations that arose from the statistic shared in Josie's 2018 CEO speech that Mosman was ranked as the North Shore suburb with the highest incidents of domestic violence (Bureau of Statistics stat) .
The impressive images of a renovated Dee Why Head Office were also shared by Josie and included a new Tech Room. This was a goal project that Josie shared at the 2018 dinner. The highlight message was that this renovation was achieved with 100% donated skilled labour, office and IT equipment. Bunnings Brookvale were a key partner in making this renovation a reality.
The dinner was a great combination of great food, a live band, time to mingle and speeches from CEO Josie Parata, Mike and Kerryn Baird, and the presentation of an $8,000 cheque by Jason Falinski MP, Federal Member for Mackellar. There was also a live auction, which included prizes such as a golf day with Tom and Jake Trbojevic and a Manly Game Day experience package.
